2021- Dating petroglyphs on Mesa Prieta using mineralization over and under the images in conjunction with Mark MacKenzie, DCA

Dr. Kurt Anschuetz
2021- Material provided by Janet MacKenzie and Candie Borduin to update research on New Mexico agricultural features.

Gary Morgan, DCA, and Dan Koning
2018 - Research at the Black Mesa Quarry on Mesa Prieta for fossils representing the Moicene epoch (about seven million years old).


Mars Project, LANL
2017 - Studies conducted on basalt repatination on the Wells Petroglyph Preserve. 

Jerry Kendall and Jan Phillips
2016 - Geomorphological research at University of New Mexico, used drones on Mesa Prieta to document subsidence on the mesa.

Jim Pagel and Kathleen Broyles
2016- Research on the Wells Petroglyph Preserve concerning dreaming and petroglyph creation.  Paper published in American Psychological Association Journal.
 
Taylor Bennett
2015 - Efforts to see Invisible Petroglyphs with use of D-Stretch technology on Mesa Prieta.

Dr. Kim Wallen
2014 - 15 and 2019 - Research using a drone dating an early eclipse event possibly depicted by a petroglyph on the Wells Petroglyph Preserve. MPPP co-authored a paper for the San Diego Rock Art Association and with Emory University in June, 2019.

Janet MacKenzie
2013 - Ongoing research concerning the over 25 European cross images found and recorded to date on Mesa Prieta.  Her research was consolidated into her presentation in 2013 of “Cross Connections: Religious Iconography of the Historic Period, Mesa Prieta and Area, Northern New Mexico.” 
 Proceedings of the International Federation of Rock Art Organizations (IFRAO), International Rock Art Congress.

Candie Borduin, Lee Borduin, Jeff Toomey
2013 - Research in preparation for presentation
