The Mesa Prieta Petroglyph Project is a project to protect a place.

MPPP is exclusively organized for charitable and educational purposes, including the protection and preservation of archaeological features and the environment and cultural landscape of the Mesa Prieta region of the northern Rio Grande Valley through documentation, education, outreach and promotion of heritage stewardship.

2024 MPPP Summer Youth Intern Program
Our 2024 Summer Youth Internship Program is off to an excellent start. We have 17 awesome students from the Santa Fe Indian School, Ohkay Owengue, Los Alamos High School, Espanola Valley, Mesa Vista and southern Colorado. Today's activities included an introduction to Tsikwaye and geology - including rock hunting in the Rio Grande!
